Here's a cheap recipe for ya:
Beef Stroganoff
1 Sliced Beef Family Sized Banquet meal(can be found with the TV Dinners)
1 bag of Egg noodles
2 Tblspn Butter
Sour Cream to taste
Microwave the sliced beef for the time it says on the box, meanwhile cooking your Noodles. After both are heated and cooked pour sliced beef over noodles, adding the butter and however much sour cream you like for the sauce.
That's a $6 meal that feeds 4-5 people and it only takes about 15 minutes to make. And I LOVE it.What are really cheap recipes I can make?

Black Bean Stew Serves 4
4 medium Yukon (thin skinned) potatoes (or use red potatoes, quartered)
1 1/2 cups baby carrots, each one cut in half
can of S%26amp;W Caribbean Black beans (has Red Bell Pepper, Anaheim Chili Peppers, Diced Onion %26amp; Lime, Juice in Caribbean Sauce)
can of S%26amp;W mexican recipe stewed tomatoes (has green pepper and onion)
1 tbsp chili paste (use Huy Fong Sambal Oelek, ground fresh chili paste)
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Scrub potatoes and quarter the potatoes (If there are larger, cut into sixths). Add potatoes and water (to top of potatoes) and partially cover, in a large sauce pan; cook on medium for 10-15 minutes.
While potatoes are cooking, place baby carrots, in covered dish (with a 1 to 2 tbsp water) and microwave (on High) for 3 1/2 minutes (1000 watt microwave).
Open cans of beans and tomatoes (cut tomatoes into smaller pieces), strain the juices into a measuring cup. Add cornstarch to juice and stir thoroughly. This will be used to thicken the sauce.
When potatoes are done (I stick a knife in a few; if comes away easily, it鈥檚 done.), drain the water (use a lid, tipped so there is a opening, to hold the potatoes in the pot).
Add beans, tomatoes, carrots, and garlic to the potatoes; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until its bubbles.
Add cornstarch mixture (tomato and bean juice). Stir till sauce is thickened.

Black Bean Empanadas
15.5 oz can Black Beans
3 tablespoons Tomato Sauce/Crushed Tomatoes
1/4 teaspoon Chili Powder (a little more, to taste)
1/4 teaspoon Salt (optional or just a pinch, I use no salt and increase chili powder to 1/2 tsp)
1/2 teaspoon Dried Oregano
1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
little amount Cilantro/Scallions
1 tablespoon Oil
Store bought refrigerated Buttermilk biscuits or reduced fat buttermilk biscuits
Optional:
Milk for brushing
Salsa for dipping
Prepare the filling:
Drain the beans from the can in a colander and wash it under running water. Mash the beans with a potato masher or a fork.
In a skillet add the oil and after it heats add the mashed black beans, crushed tomatoes, chili powder, oregano and garlic powder.
Fry it for 2-3 minutes until all the ingredients combine well.
Transfer it to a bowl and let it cool. Stir in cilantro/scallions. I didn鈥檛 have cilantro so I used scallions instead. The filling tasted very good by itself.
Preparing the Empanadas:
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a large baking sheet.
I did not cut all the biscuits at once because I did not know if the filling would be sufficient. So I dealt one by one. I got 12 empanadas, for the filling, i.e., I used 6 full biscuits. The remaining 2 biscuits I just baked it as it is.
Remove the biscuits from the pack as the per the instructions and place them either on a floured surface or in the prepared baking sheet so that it doesn鈥檛 stick to the surface.
Cut each biscuit into 2 pieces using a pair of scissors and roll them into balls.
Roll each piece of biscuit on a lightly floured surface into a 4-inch circle.
Place about 1 tablespoon filling onto half of each circle. Brush edges with very little milk. Fold opposite side of circle up and over filling and seal edges with a fork.
Place filled turnovers 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheet, brush with milk.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. The aroma was so appetizing. Immediately remove from baking sheet. Cool slightly on a wire rack. We had store bought salsa at home and the turnovers tasted even better when dipped in salsa.
Freezing Tips:
These turnovers can be made ahead and frozen for later use. Prepare it as per the above directions. Let it cool completely on wire racks. Place in an airtight freezer container; freeze for up to 3 months. We ate only 6, so I froze the remaining 6 in Ziploc bags. To reheat, transfer frozen turnovers to an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake, uncovered, in a 350F oven for 10-12 minutes or until heated through.
