Looking for really cheap recipes?

I need to cut costs for awhile and am looking for your cheapest recipes? I need to feed 3 adults and one small child. Also none of us like peppers! Thanks in advance!Looking for really cheap recipes?
Lots and LOTS of pasta. There's a million things you can do with it! Also, check out sales on things like Hamburger Helper, check the discount bins for half-priced meats, and scour the stores for sales.Looking for really cheap recipes?
If you are looking for really cheap, try french toast, egg salad, tuna fish, and boxed mac and cheese. When we had no money I would buy boxed mac and cheese and mix in tuna or top it with canned chili. I would also buy the store brand french fries and bake them (you can get them for much less). Think about getting a ham and using it different ways, a baked ham one night, then use the leftovers for ham and eggs, ham sandwiches, baked potatoes topped with ham and cheese, split pea soup made with the bone and all the little leftovers. French bread topped with canned pizza sauce, some mozzarella cheese makes good pizzas and doesn't feel like you are broke. And now with stores having good sales to unload items that may expire quickly really shop carefully-I have found times when steak was cheaper per pound than hamburger. I make meatballs with spaghetti and then use the leftovers for meatball subs. Use leftovers for soup-we call it garbage soup when we mix everything we don't want to throw out, add some water or broth and some pasta or macaroni. Good luck, and use your imagination!

Fast and Easy Tofu Lo-Mein -- I DONT use Tofu (eeewww) I use chicken w/chicken ramen, pork with oriental ramen, beef with beef ramen

INGREDIENTS

1 (16 ounce) package extra firm tofu

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 (3 ounce) packages Oriental flavored ramen noodles

1 (16 ounce) package frozen stir-fry vegetables

1 1/2 cups water

1 tablespoon soy sauce, or to taste

DIRECTIONS

Press tofu between paper towels to remove some of the water; cut in to bite size cubes. Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add tofu, and fry until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.

Meanwhile bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Add noodles from ramen packages, reserving the seasoning envelopes. Boil for about 2 minutes, just until the noodles break apart. Drain.

Add the stir-fry vegetables to the pan with the tofu, and season with the ramen noodle seasoning packet. Cook, stirring occasionally until vegetables are tender, but not mushy. Add noodles, and stir to blend. Season with soy sauce to taste and serve.

Prepare the cornbread batter mixes according to package directions. Spread the batter over the top of the beef mixture.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until the top is golden brown, and a knife inserted into the center of the cornbread layer comes out clean.
Stop in at a local veggie market at the end of day and pick up whatever they are selling cheap and make soup. Buy bread at an outlet and get yourself a large jar of peanut butter. For other ideas since you seem to be able to afford a computer and connection just do a web search. Why not sell the computer and stop paying for connection fees and feed your family and go out an get work instead of playing on the computer. That seems like it would make more sense.
Quick Beef and Rice

This is one of the easiest, quickest kid-friendly recipe around. It's not particularly healthy, although if you use low-fat ground beef or turkey and have some vegetables on the side, liked cooked carrots, it's not too bad.

1 pound ground beef or turkey

2 cups rice

1 package onion soup mix

4 cups water

1 15 oz. can cream of mushroom soup

Brown the ground meat and drain if necessary. Add soup mix, rice, soup, and water and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, till rice is done.

Options: You can leave out the cream of soup if you don't have it or just make a simple white sauce. If you don't have any onion soup mix, saut茅 an onion and add 2 tsp. beef bouillon instead.
You phrased the question wrong. Recipes are just recipes, it's the cost of the ingredients that make it cheap or expensive. The replies mean well but giving you recipes are meaningless and can be had with a quick Google search.

Look for meats and vegetables that are on sale. Try to connect with a wholesale purveyor who will sell you for the same price as a deli. Check out Costco or Sam's Club and let's not forget Wal-Mart. You do need time to search out the best prices. Good luck.
I like to make homemade tacos.

fry corn tortillas in oil and fold over

ground beef

shredded cheese

easy and inexpensive. When I'm in a rush I will open a can of black beans and add a scoop of sour cream to it.

Also, homemade sloppy joes.

No need for rudeness....some people are just on a budget.

I am always on the hunt for inexpensive, good meals my children will actually like. I've tried a few but, most of the results were undesirable. One thing I like to do is the following:

Buy a beef roast when it is on sale and cook it with potatoes and carrots (you can use celery too). It will usually run you around $10 for the whole meal. The next night, make Hash with the leftovers and you get two meals out of one. here is my has recipe %26amp; everyone LOVES it!

*Let me point out I am an utter garlic freak so, if you or your family are not into garlic, simply omit it %26amp; substitute with seasonings of your choice.

Roast Beef Hash

Leftover roasted beef

Leftover roasted potatoes

leftover carrots/celery

oil

small onion - chopped

few cloves of garlic - minced

Salt, pepper %26amp; garlic powder

leftover gravy if you have it

Chop meat into small pieces. Cut up potatoes, carrots %26amp; celery. Heat oil in skillet %26amp; sautee onions %26amp; garlic until tender. Add meat, veggies %26amp; potatoes. Season well with garlic powder (or seasoning of your choice) and salt %26amp; pepper. If you have the leftover gravy, add about a tablespoon to add more flavor to the dish. Heat through and serve with a salad %26amp; crusty bread!

Can't beat 2 nights worth of dinner for $10.00 + the cost of an onion %26amp; garlic (which you most likely have on hand)!

Happy eating!
