Anyone have any super cheap recipes or dinner ideas that kids will like too?

It seems like my family has the same meals over and over, lol...do any of you have any cheap meal ideas that your family really enjoys? Groceries are so expensive now and Im really interested in trying new recipes that are affordable and that my whole family will enjoy...thanks to anyone who answers!Anyone have any super cheap recipes or dinner ideas that kids will like too?
Easy Ckn Alfredo- 1 can Tyson chicken breast (by the tuna in the store), 1 jar alfredo sauce, whatever noodles you like. Just mix the ckn and sauce together and heat til hot. Pour over cooked noodles. Great with garlic bread or salad. Really cheap, easy, and fast.

Salmon Croquettes- I can pink salmon (by the tuna) Debone the salmon and remove skin. Shred salmon w/ a fork. Add one egg, 1/4 cup flour, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix all together, form into patties, and fry til golden brown. Great w/ mac and cheese, green beans, crescent rolls.

My 4 year old daughter loves both of these recipes.Anyone have any super cheap recipes or dinner ideas that kids will like too?
Chicken thighs/drumsticks are reasonably priced and tasty. They are absolutely gorgeous when you marinade them with soy sauce (Kikkoman is the best!) and Schwarz chicken seasoning and stick them under the grill. Serve them with baked potatoes and a tossed salad and you have a filling and healthy meal for your family.

The soy sauce will also come in handy for stir-fries, which are also cheap and healthy.

Buying vegetables when they're in season will save you money - pumpkin and butternut squash will be available soon and they both make delicious soups served with hot buttered bread/rolls

And make sure that you get some microwaveable plastic containers so you can freeze leftover meals and heat them up on days where you can't be bothered to cook - my mum often cooks too much so she has a meal to fall back on if ever she's too tired to cook properly. Frozen meals can be kept for a good few months so it doesn't matter if you forget about them for a while!
Tator tot casserole, even picky eaters like it! :)

Ingredients:

1 lbs Turkey Hamburger

1 bag Tator Tots

2 - 3 cups of Cheddar cheese (you can mix it with provolone or mozzarella) (Depends on how cheesy you want it!)

1 can cream of Campbell's Healthy Cream of Chicken (it contains no MSG) (Cream of mushroom works as well, we don't like mushrooms)

any veggies your family likes (I use peas, green beans and corn)

Cook as directed on back of the bag of tator tots: usually around 375F

Cook the turkey hamburger, heat up the cream of chicken soup using 1/2 can of milk and 1/2 can of water. Mix turkey, cream of chicken and veggies together in bowl. Line the bottom of casserole dish or pan with tator tots. Pour turkey/cream of chicken/veggie mix in dish or pan. Line the top with tator tots. Cook as directed on back of bag of tator tots: usually around 15-25 minutes.

When done, take casserole out and sprinkle cheese on the top!
Seeing as Halloween is right around the corner, I'll give you a few ';spooky'; kid friendly ideas:

BBQ WORM SANDWICH

take 8 hot dogs and cute the into lengthwise strips, about 6 strips each hot dog. put them into a skillet and heat them up until the strips start to curl. gently stir in bbq sauce until hot dogs are coated with it. heat until sauce is bubbly. place slices of cheese on bottom halves of buns. top with hot dog mixture. worm sandwich.

HALLOWEEN SOUP

use a halloween cookie cutter or a knife, and cut slices of american cheese into a shape. make a can of soup - tomato seems to work the best and after soup is cooked top each bowl with a different shape of cheese.

I still eat this one that my mom made when we were kids.

Grab a bag of your favorite tortilla chips, a large can of your favorite chili, and half a block of cream cheese.

Melt the cream cheese and chili together either on the stove (preferable) or in the microwave, and use it as a dip for the chips.

It's really good, and pretty darn cheap.

I personally use Wolf brand chili with beans and the Tostitos Scoops work wonderfully
its not a recipe but if you go to a meat place in a mostly Hispanic area they usually have good tasting cheap meat like thin stake meat I don't know how to spell it. I am Hispanic and a lot of Hispanic food is cheap and easy. it all revolves around beans tortillas cheese meat tomato onions and chills. basically ....if you fry a tortilla in veg.oil the spread re-fry-ed beans and sprinkle some cheese on there with tomato and some ground beef with sour cream that is pretty tasty.. corn tortillas *** mac n cheese with ground beef
Hot dogs cut up and cooked in the skillet with soy sauce. I know it sounds weird but it's delicious. All beef franks (ballparks) are the best but I used to just get whatever was on sale. We just have white rice with it. It's easy and we never have leftovers.

There's a lot of things I do with hot dogs because I don't have to worry about the time involved with allowing other meat to thaw and I can use hot dogs at the last minute. Hot dogs and cabbage, pork and beans, hot dogs in mac n cheese, hot dogs and chili, hot dogs rolled up in a tortilla.
Here are some easy, quick, cheap, and delicious recipes that use Ramen Noodles!
