Do you have any cheap easy recipes that a couple of students could make?

Please not baked beans on toast or stuff like that!Do you have any cheap easy recipes that a couple of students could make?
A quick easy one is potato skins. Bake or microwave potatoes, scoop out the centre into a large bowl, mix with a bit of butter and I like adding corn beef and onion. Refill mash potato into the skins and grill with cheese on the top. You can use any filling you like for this. Cheap but can be slightly time consuming.

Soup is very cheap to make and very versatile, just buy a hand blender from tescos/argos value range 拢5. Chop all your veg, add to pan, add stock made from stock cubes and boil, cover with a lid to boil faster but keep your eye on it as it might overflow. once cooked, blend down and salt and pepper to taste.

Stew is very cheap to make too. Buy braising steak, marbled with fat is the best, leave in the packet and use a large pan to bash the meat within an inch of its new life, this is so the meat goes tender, chop the steak into bite sized pieces, dip meat into flour and fry off, this wil help creat gravy. in a large pan add meat, veg and pots, add stock and cook for approx 1.5 hours or until all your veg is cooked. if you dont want to buy flour, herbs or stock use a beef stew powder sachet (they can sometimes be tastier). You have to remember the outlay for all you ingredients might be more than you want to spend, but it will last a few days or freeze it. i cheat and the 2nd day i will buy ready made yorkshre puddings etc and serve it in them.

Tomato based sauces use tinned tomatoes, some tom puree, onions, herbs (fresh or dried), worcester sauce, garlic, salt pepper any other dry spices. Stretch the sauce out using mushrooms, celery, courgette etc - you can then have this in fridge or freezer to add to mince. But skint or not use lean mince, or make meatballs with the mince. Make sure you spice or herbsw to the mincemeat mixture for meatballs and also add onion either raw or lightly fried.

a very cheap recipe i use all the time is spinach and ricotta cannelloni i wont type it out as i do it all by eye not weight and a low fat cheat is to use bisto white sauce. frozen spinach is another cheat, and once you have it in your freezer you can add it to your mince dishes to provide more nutrients. Another cheap cheat is using frozen peppers. Frozen veg has more nutrients in them as opposed to veg that has been stored for weeks by the supermarkets.Do you have any cheap easy recipes that a couple of students could make?
Parmesan Chicken

鈥?1 cup all-purpose flour

鈥?1 teaspoon kosher salt

鈥?1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

鈥?2 extra-large eggs

鈥?1 tablespoon water

鈥?1 1/4 cups seasoned dry bread crumbs

鈥?1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan, plus extra for serving

Pound the chicken breasts until they are 1/4-inch thick. You can use either a meat mallet or a rolling pin.

Combine the flour, salt, and pepper on a dinner plate. On a second plate, beat the eggs with 1 tablespoon of water. On a third plate, combine the bread crumbs and 1/2 cup grated Parmesan. Coat the chicken breasts on both sides with the flour mixture, then dip both sides into the egg mixture and dredge both sides in the bread-crumb mixture, pressing lightly.

Heat 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large saute pan and cook 2 or 3 chicken breasts on medium-low heat for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, until cooked through. Add more butter and oil and cook the rest of the chicken breasts. Serve with extra grated Parmesan.
I used to make mini pizzas as a kid that was awesome. Just buy any tomato sauce you like, texas toast, whatever toppings, cheese, meat, ect.

Smooth a layer of sauce on bread, put on toppings, and pop into the over for like 5-10 minutes, or until crisp and melty.
