How about Macaroni Cheese, you can add some diced bacon into it. Corned beef hash with poached egg goes down well too. A favourite with my family is Vegetable Hot Pot. I use a frozen stew pack of vegetables and a frozen bag of broccoli and cauliflower. Boil as normal and then add to a cheese sauce with a little mustard added to it. Peel and slice a few potatoes and par boil for a few minutes. Place the veg mixture in a casserole dish, cover with the sliced potatoes and a little grated cheese. Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes. You can also add a diced gammon steak to this. It lovely served with Garlic bread or french bread for the children.
.My boys are grown up now but one thing I cooked for them was leek and potato soup.Boil potatoes leeks and onions until cooked add salt and pepper to season then stir in a tin of cream of chicken soup hey presto dinner, nice and easy.Serve with crusty bread very filling and nutritious. Why not make quiche with salad and new potatoes? You can buy ready made pastry cases by jus rol in tesco put in onions bacon top with grated cheese mix 3 eggs with a little milk season pour onto filling and bake for approx 45 mins or until set.Quite easy to do and tasty. Both these recipes are quick and easy to prepare and cook and cheap to make.Hope this helps.
bolognase pasta

instead of spaghetti use pasta shells or twists, this is great for kids and you can also hide veg in there too without the kids even noticing, just dice it into small chunks and the sauce disguises it.
sweet and sour chicken, make your own sauce and its really healthy. I make it and freeze it for my 8 month old, also chicken and sage bake, lamb an 5 bean casserole.
what about a chicken and mushroom risotto.
